"They" Shouldn't Have Fun At Your Expense
After reading my last post, friends told me to write about what girls really want. I looked around my room because I thought that would be difficult since I'm just one girl and I never want to fall into using stereotypes. Anyway, as I sat on the bus a few days, some thoughts came to mind on something else I believe is really important.
Imagine you got an invite for a five course dinner in a crème de la crème restaurant with all the works including meeting very top dogs in your industry. A chauffeur driven car is supposed to pick you up for 8pm. You start getting ready from 5:30pm I guess, having a shower, make up and everything. After getting set, you got unto your drive way with the ride packed waiting only to realize you misplaced the IV or your dress got torn while you were trying to bend into the car. Imagine the anger, frustration and all. Of course if you ended up going, your mood won't be the same. Sometimes, we have the hype and all of meeting people, dating, marriage or our life plans, only to realize we lack some vital preparation ourselves.
Guys and girls alike want someone worth preparing for/to. The right preparation is essential in every of life's daily activities. If you can sort out what to wear to work the following day, map out your route when going on a journey, read hard to pass an examination or buy all the ingredients to cook a meal, why should preparing for the future or marriage be such an uphill task? Luke 14: 28-30 - "Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn't first sit down and figure the cost so you'll know if you can complete it? If you only get the foundation laid and then run out of money, you're going to look pretty foolish. Everyone passing by will poke fun at you: 'He started something he couldn't finish.'(The Message)"
I can assure you that in life, there are quite a number of people on the sidelines who enjoy doing one thing, laughing when you err. Please always stop these people from having fun at your expense by preparing adequately for all you set out to do.

DeleteI understand what you're saying but no matter how much we prepare sometimes, we are never quite ready for some things that come our way. Its why we need God's grace in everything we do. Nice post.

We can never be ready for everything that comes our way, but we shouldn't just fold our arms and sit waiting for time and chance to happen. God's grace is really key and prayer is also an important part of preparation. Thanks

Deletehello dear, how you doing. nice piece you've written there. Am not very sure where I read this that Preparation is of man while Performance is of God. I think preparation is essential as it reveals where our interests lie and ultimately determine how we ask God what we want (in essence perform).
