A friend is one that cares

One that shares 

And one that loves

A friend listens 

A friend speaks
A friend corrects
There are too many ways of loving
Far too many ways of caring
A million ways of sharing
Why do we have to drive a knife through a friend's heart?
We want to criticise
But what we do is back-bite
We aim to correct
What we do is gossip
We are personified tabloids
We take our friends out to slaughter
What do we really want to achieve?
Can we prove to be far better?
Let's stand for the truth in love
Let's correct
And not publish their wrongs with our mouths
If each person had a friend
One that cares
One that shares
One that loves,
Then the earth will be a better place
Each one will have a counsellor
A teacher, a companion and a mate.
Together we will achieve excellence

Our neighbours are in need of us
