It's Very Difficult...

Hello People
How are you doing?
Hope you are doing very well.
It is my prayer that God will come through for us as a nation, as individuals, give us accountable leaders and help us be great citizens.

Honestly, I am having a lot of trouble trying to craft what to write.
Since last week, I have been feeling some kind of numbness about the Nigerian situation.
I know I need to write about something so I'll go back to the moments we received the news of Dolu's  passing.

Before we heard the news of her death, we knew she was seriously ill and in hospital.  Some of us, her friends had agreed to come together that weekend to pray for her healing. We had agreed the venue, date and time for the prayers. I got there that morning and knocked at the door. Immediately the door was opened, I knew the worst had happened. The eyes of the person that opened the door was RED. She just turned around and continued to cry. I remember more people coming to hear the devastating news. After a while, we decided that the best thing to do since most of us were there already for prayers was to thank God for her life. When the suggestion to thank God came up, I remember the room was a bit more tense like daggers in blood shot eyes. Perhaps some people there were thinking "Why exactly are we thanking God?" or "What are we thanking God for?" Anyway, after some minutes, a chorus was raised, then the next chorus, then a thanks giving prayer, then another prayer and before we knew it, everyone was talking to God in ways they wanted to express themselves.

The incidence of last week Tuesday has been very hard to comprehend and even difficult to deal with. I have heard of people dealing with the after effects of trauma including nightmares, panic attacks, headaches etc. Some of us have even found it unable to pray or praise. A number of us now have even more questions than answers.

Please find that voice again, even if it begins with a whisper or only a few lines. The voice of prayer, the voice of praise and the voice of thanksgiving.
I believe that slowly but surely, we will find ourselves again.

Have a wonderful rest of the week.
Miss Onakz...

  2. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your friend, the God of all comfort will strengthen all she has left behind, definitely she is in a better place, resting and cheering us on. I have hope for Nigeria, though it seems there's too much to deal with right now with all that is on ground but let's hold unto the word and prophesies of the Lord over our Nation. Nigeria will be great again!
