Unnecessary Beliefs

These were the words written in my slum book by the Matron when I was graduating from Secondary (High) School. Oftentimes, I wondered what she meant by those words.

Why did I need to focus on only good thoughts?

Am I supposed to be a complete optimist in everything?

I still think her message is apt even now. Life and the pressures it brings puts different situations your way, you deliberately have to choose the positives.

I am very excited by the number of people that read the post last week.

Particularly grateful to everyone that left comments. I am also happy that every comment was centred on joy and positives. It is my prayer that we continue to experience that overflowing joy now and always in Jesus name. Amen!

Hope you had a very good week.

Mine was cool.

Majorly meetings and some personal reflections.

I thought I hadn't left a funny joke here in a while so I am doing just that today.

Hope you are ready for it.

A couple of years ago, my cousin told me that his friend, a cool guy was interested in me. Oh wow! For ladies that have a spec, maybe I would say he was my spec with toppings. I had spoken to him a number of times but to hear that he liked me was nice. From then on, I "heard" his smile and when we spoke I saw  the stars and a rainbow all at once. The funniest part of this gist is that because I heard he liked me, I decided I was going to be cool and stop doing uncool things.

First on my list of uncool things was my diet. I thought cool girls needed to stop eating certain foods because they seemed uncool. How can such a cool guy know I ate such? The first items I canceled from my list was ... drumrolls...clapping....Eba and all other swallows! I thought these foods were not for cool kids at all.

Oh well, after being very hungry and realising how ridiculous my thought was, I humbly submitted my cool kid crown and started not only eating but also making them. 

Please don't ask me how many years ago this happened.

All I will just tell you is that it happened a lifetime ago.
